Lady Gaga, a self-made, theatrical diva, blends Madonna, Bowie, and Mercury, pioneering millennial superstardom by mastering internet connectivity and cultivating “Little Monsters.” She propels The Fame into reality, crosses into the mainstream, and eclipses turn-of-the-century stars with her innovative style and music. Gaga repurposes the ’80s for digital-age pop on albums like Born This Way, Artpop, and Chromatica, and explores jazz with Tony Bennett on Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale. Beyond music, she earns acclaim for American Horror Story and A Star Is Born, then stars in House of Gucci and Joker: Folie à Deux, releasing Harlequin alongside the latter, and in 2025, wins a Grammy for “Die with a Smile” with Bruno Mars, followed by Mayhem.

Born Stefani Germanotta, Gaga plays piano, pursues musical theater, and lands a Sopranos background role. She attends NYU’s Tisch, appears on Boiling Points, and leaves school to front SGBand. Later, she collaborates with Rob Fusari, adopting the name Lady Gaga, and signs with Def Jam in 2006. Def Jam drops her in 2007; she then develops the Lady Gaga & the Starlight Revue with Lady Starlight, and signs with Interscope. “Just Dance” initially gains traction in Europe, then slowly climbs US charts, reaching number one in 2009, followed by “Poker Face.” She releases The Fame Monster, featuring “Bad Romance,” which rivals “Poker Face.” In 2010, “Bad Romance,” “Alejandro,” and “Telephone” with Beyoncé, and the Monster Ball Tour solidify her prominence. She announces Born This Way for 2011, releasing “Born This Way,” “Judas,” and “The Edge of Glory,” all Top Ten hits. The Born This Way album reaches double-platinum and produces “You and I” and “Marry the Night.” She releases Born This Way: The Remix and a holiday special in 2011.

Gaga promotes Born This Way in 2012, touring internationally until hip surgery halts it in 2013. She works on Artpop, releasing “Applause” and “Do What U Want” before the album’s release, which debuts at number one. She parts with manager Troy Carter, signs with Bobby Campbell and Artist Nation, and collaborates with Tony Bennett on Cheek to Cheek, earning a Grammy. She performs at the Oscars, earns an Oscar nomination for “Until It Happens to You,” and stars in American Horror Story, winning a Golden Globe.

She releases Joanne in 2016, featuring “Perfect Illusion,” “John Wayne,” and “Million Reasons,” which sees a comeback after her Super Bowl performance. Before the Joanne World Tour, she releases “The Cure” and Gaga: Five Foot Two. In 2018, she stars in A Star Is Born, earning Oscar nominations and winning for “Shallow.” She wins a Grammy for “I’ll Never Love Again” in 2020. She releases Chromatica, featuring “Stupid Love” and “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande, and collaborates with BlackPink and Elton John.

Gaga releases Dawn of Chromatica, sings at Biden’s inauguration, stars in House of Gucci, and marks Born This Way’s anniversary with Born This Way Reimagined. She reunites with Tony Bennett for Love for Sale, winning another Grammy. In 2022, she releases “Hold My Hand” for Top Gun: Maverick, and performs it at the Oscars. Her song “Bloody Mary” goes viral. In 2023, she joins Stevie Wonder on the Rolling Stones’ “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.”

In 2024, Gaga stars in Joker: Folie à Deux, performs at the Paris Olympics, and releases “Die with a Smile” with Bruno Mars, earning Grammy nominations.

They win a Grammy in 2025. Gaga releases Mayhem, featuring “Disease” and “Abracadabra,” and collaborates with Cirkut, Andrew Watt, and Gesaffelstein.
